Malaysia Producer Prices Fall the Most in 9 Months
Producer prices in Malaysia dropped by 2.9 percent year-on-year in October 2019, following a 2.4 percent fall in a month earlier. It was the 12th straight month of yearly decline and the steepest fall since January, as cost decreased further for manufacturing (-1.3 percent vs -1 percent in September), mining (-18.2 percent vs -14.4 percent), agriculture, forestry & fishing (-1.5 percent vs -1.1 percent), and water supply (-1.8 percent vs -2.8 percent). In contrast, prices of electricity & gas supply rose 1.3 percent, the same as in september. On a monthly basis, producer prices fell by 0.2 percent in October, reversing from a 0.7 percent gain in September.

Producer prices in Malaysia dropped by 2.4 percent year-on-year in September 2019, following a 1.9 percent fall in a month earlier. It was the 11th straight month of yearly decline and the steepest fall since January, as cost decreased more for agriculture, forestry & fishing (-1.1 percent vs -0.9 percent in August); water supply (-2.8 percent vs -2.6 percent), and mining (-14.4 percent vs -10.9 percent).In addition, prices of electricity & gas supply rose softer (1.3 percent vs 2.2 percent). Meantime, cost of manufacturing continued to drop (-1 percent, the same pace as in August). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.7 percent in September, accelerating from a 0.2 percent gain in August.

Producer prices in Malaysia dropped by 1.9 percent year-on-year in August 2019, the tenth straight month of yearly decline, following a 2.2 percent fall in a month earlier. Cost decreased less for both agriculture, forestry & fishing (-0.9 percent vs -6.5 percent in July) and water supply (-2.6 percent vs -2.8 percent). In addition, prices of electricity & gas supply rose faster (2.2 percent vs 1.5 percent). Meantime, cost declined at a steeper rate for both manufacturing (-1 percent vs -0.9 percent) and mining (-10.9 percent vs -9.9 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.2 percent in August, swinging from a 0.1 percent fall in July.

Cost fell further for most components: agriculture, forestry & fishing (-6.5 percent vs -9.2 percent in June); mining (-9.9 percent vs -6.4 percent); manufacturing (-0.9 percent vs -0.8 percent); and water supply (-2.8 percent vs -1.8 percent). Meanwhile, prices of electricity & gas supply rose less (1.5 percent vs 1.8 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices declined by 0.1 percent in July, much softer from a 0.9 percent fall in June.

Producer prices in Malaysia dropped by 1.8 percent year-on-year in June 2019, the eighth straight month of yearly decline, following a 1.5 percent fall in a month earlier. Cost fell further for most components: agriculture, forestry & fishing (-9.2 percent vs -12.8 percent in May); mining (-6.4 percent vs -0.4 percent); manufacturing (-0.8 percent vs -0.6 percent); and water supply (-1.8 percent vs -2.3 percent). In contrast, prices of electricity & gas supply rose faster (1.8 percent vs 1.2 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices declined by 0.9 percent in June, shifting from a 0.2 percent gain in May.

Malaysia Producer Prices Fall for 7th Month
Producer prices in Malaysia dropped by 1.5 percent year-on-year in May 2019, the seventh straight month of yearly decline, following a 1.4 percent fall in a month earlier. Cost of mining declined (-0.4 percent vs 1.4 percent in April) and prices of agriculture, forestry & fishing fell further (-12.8 percent vs -11.9 percent). Also, cost of electricity & gas supply slowed (1.2 percent vs 1.5 percent). Meanwhile, prices decreased at a softer pace for manufacturing (-0.6 percent vs -0.8 percent) and water supply (-2.3 percent vs -2.6 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.2 percent in May, slowing from a 0.6 percent gain in April.
