Iceland Producer Prices Fall For 1st Time Since 2017
Iceland's producer prices decreased by 3.3 percent year-on-year in November of 2019, after a 1.1 percent rise the previous month. It was the first drop in producer prices since September of 2017, as power intensive industry cost fell further (-15.9 percent vs -8.7 percent in October). In addition, cost slowed for food (1.7 percent vs 2.1 percent); marine products (6.6 percent vs 12.3 percent) and other manufacturing industries (1.7 percent vs 2.1 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 1.1 percent, after decreasing 0.1 percent increase in the previous month.

Producer prices in Iceland rose 1.1 percent year-on-year in October of 2019, easing from a 4.5 percent gain in the previous month. It was the lowest producer inflation since April of 2018, as power intensive industry cost fell further (-8.7 percent vs -4.4 percent in September) while prices slowed for marine products (12.3 percent vs 16.8 percent); food production (2.1 percent vs 2.8 percent) and for other manufacturing industries (4.5 percent vs 7.6 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 0.1 percent, after decreasing 0.4 percent increase in the previous month.

Producer prices in Iceland rose 4.5 percent year-on-year in September of 2019, easing from a 6.6 percent gain in the previous month. It was the lowest producer inflation since April of 2018, as power intensive industry cost fell further (-4.4 percent vs -1.7 percent in August) while prices slowed for marine products (16.8 percent vs 19.6 percent); food production (2.8 percent vs 4.0 percent) and for other manufacturing industries (7.6 percent vs 8.5 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 0.4 percent, after decreasing 0.3 percent increase in the previous month.

Producer prices in Iceland rose 6.6 percent year-on-year in August of 2019, from a 5.9 percent gain in the previous month, as power intensive industry cost dropped at a much softer pace (-1.7 percent vs -6.8 percent in July). On the other hand, prices slowed for marine products (19.6 percent vs 21.2 percent); food production (4.0 percent vs 4.6 percent) and for other manufacturing industries (8.5 percent vs 12.0 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 0.3 percent, following a 1.0 percent decrease in the previous month.

Iceland Producer Inflation Slows to 5-Month Low
Producer prices in Iceland rose 5.9 percent year-on-year in July of 2019, easing from a 6.7 percent gain in the previous month. It was the lowest producer inflation since February, as power intensive industry cost fell further (-6.8 percent vs -5.5 percent in June) while prices went up at a softer pace for other manufacturing industries (12.0 percent vs 13.2 percent) and food production (4.6 percent vs 4.7 percent). On the other hand, marine products cost advanced faster (21.2 percent vs 21.1 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 1.0 percent, after increasing 1.2 percent increase in the previous month.

Iceland Producer Inflation Rate Eases to 6.7% in June
Producer prices in Iceland increased 6.7 percent year-on-year in June 2019, slowing from a 7.8 percent gain in the previous month. It was the lowest producer inflation rate in four months, as cost of power intensive industry dropped further (-5.5 percent from -1 percent in May) and food production prices eased (4.7 percent from 5.2 percent). Meanwhile, cost advanced at a faster pace for marine products (21.1 percent from 18.5 percent); and other manufacturing industries (13.2 percent from 12.7 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up 1.2 percent, after rising 1.3 percent in the prior month.
